After a day of battling Nor'west Wind, my sheets are finally dry.

That grumpy old wind did his best by throwing them on the lawn (just missing the chicken poo) or twisting them tightly round and round the line.

But I didn't give up. And now they're back in bed.

I can't wait for beddybye time. It's the bestest feeling snuggling between clean fluffy sheets.

:)

Mmmm. Especially if dried in the sun---something I never ever do in Georgia (too damp here)---but I remember that sweetness from Kansas days. Do you dry all your laundry outside? Such a lovely practice.

Yes, most of the time I hang the washing outside. I air it in the dryer afterwards because it always has a slight damp feeling (PG doesn't understand that). I used to bring it inside then hang it on the clothes horse to air, but oh what a hassle :)

I love this post. Such a feeling of satisfaction when you bring your dry, fresh washing in.

Deb your comment reminded me that not everybody does dry washing outside. I take it for-granted. NZ gardens all used to have clothes lines with long wooden props for raising a line of heavy washing. Helps that we get lots of wind...

Like Pooh pillowcase :-)

I grew up with the rotary clothesline. The sort that you just can't resist swinging on even though you know you'll get a jolly good telling off.
It wasn't until I went to the West Coast that I saw the wooden props. Gee the length of some them were amazing.
I have one here :) Not as long as a Coastie's one though!

I love clothes hung outside. Except when the guy next door burns plastic.

Ugh and ick.
