I don't understand why boy birds are so handsome and the ladies so plain.

I have seen them round .. here n there. Lucky with humans the fem is way more attractive than their opposite. ;o}<

But let us not forget he's the romantic who put a pukeko on your vacuum cleaner---if I remember the story correctly. The herons are beautiful. Near your home? Near water?

He has to be prodded and poked into being romantic now! haha

The herons are right out our door. I read that they share the upbringing of babies. I think they must use the tall trees as an escape as well. They make the most ghastly noise!
