For the 'decay' photo challenge, I chickened out of the rotting chook and went plumfluff instead.

Sorry to put rot and roast in the same post but...
today for lunch I'm roasting beef and a pile of veg...and it smells delicious!

I never had purple roasted whatever that thing is. Or is that the rotted part and the veg is something else?

The rotting thing in the photo is a plum.

It's a warm muggy nor'west day with bits of rain. I've made another batch of caramel square. Will ice it later today.
Sweet potato is one of my favorite veggies. So good.
The new batch of doggy treats taste a little like chicken pot pie. Or, I should say it tastes like a pot pie smells. I still haven't tasted chicken pot pies yet.
I pushed a tree over yesterday .. that had decay. And I am wondering if Whiskie tastes her puppy food ? And that Plum is probably getting tastier by the day. :)
Whisk does taste them. She said they taste like the smell of a chook pot pie.
They look really yum. Nevermind the pups, I would be eating them myself. :)
The chooks dived in and stole the plum before I could get anymore pics. They thought it was very tasty.
The rotting plum looks positively gory---like something from a grotesque sort of murder mystery. Great photography!
PG, a rotten tree trunk would be a great debut post in that blog of yours I've been waiting for.
And may I add, HW, that I think she who eats her homemade doggie biscuits before chicken pot pie must surely be a good cook . . .
Hi Debs .. did I advise you to not hold your breath waiting for a post by me ?? I bet you have noticed how a dead tree stands out in spring and summer but autumn and winter looks normal !? Also .. I would like to try those doggie biscuits too :)
You advised me, but one can always hope :-) And yes, we have a dogwood that must have breathed its last over the winter, because it's not greening out like the others this spring. How far into autumn are you now? Were you surprised by your tree that gave way?
