Fantails are the cutest of dudes.
If a door is left open they will fly inside, have a good nosy then scoot out again much to the indignation of the cats.
This wee chap made himself useful by pecking the spiders on the weatherboards.
I got so close to him that I could have reached out and pulled a feather.

It's interesting, although they are so curious and fearless, I've never had a cat catch a fantail, while the poor little waxeyes always seem to be in the firing line.
Just had a thought - do female fantails have fan tails too - and if not what do they look like? better google...
