I love the pattern - the twisting. And I love it that the fallen leaves beak down and enrich the soil so that the cycle can begin again. Wonderful!!

Amen to the twisting pattern. How elegant, mother nature's housekeeping system! Beautiful even in decay. Kudos to the photographer's eye who noticed them. They look like sea creatures.
In a spooky way .. everything we look at is in decay .. as soon as we are born we start to die and carry on the cycle.
Spooky, but when you think about it, comforting to know we're all part of the same regenerating effort :-).
