I don't know why I honour blowflies with a blogpost as last night we dealt with yucky maggots on three of our lambs.

But spying them on the parsnip seed heads made me grin and remember the fun I had with my plastic blowflies when I was a kid.

Blowflies on ice-cream...cool!

Ewg. (There are so many maggots in my compost that they clatter)...lovely photos, and thanks for sharing. Ew.

Amazing how you make even mister fly look good.

Hope your day is wonderful. I am far past my bedtime, and about to hit the slab.

Cheers and boogie boogie.

I wonder what it is about the parsnip seed heads that they seem to like so much...

Great photos, great focus on the detail again. Now I will look more closely at my bfs rather than just trying to get rid of them...

Maybe the tiny flower heads have nectar in them. They're just the right size for a blowfly tongue. Tongue?

How's your bees? You haven't mentioned them for ages.

My sleep was a bit rough but little Bug's sleep was worse. Poor little girl was sick most of the night.

She's looking better today.

Enjoy your gingernut tea. I've never had that. What is it?

Thanks for explaining it on my comments. Never had one. I would try it for sure. Love stuff like that.

Cheers.

Don't you just LOVE the low tone buzz once the light is out and your head has hit the pillow and the blowfly flowsby your head whilst you shudder hoping it doesn't land on you !?
