Hedgehogs are nocturnal.
But Prickles was sitting in the sun.
"He is sick," said Amber, my nine-year-old daughter. "Big hedgehogs only come out in the day when they are sick."
Hmmm, I thought he was eyeing up my ducklings and chicks.
No wonder he posed for the camera.
He was sick.

Awwww - I love hedgehogs and yes, I'm with Amber - think s/he must be sick. Quite a star though in all that brilliant green. Sort of a hedgie Miss Piggy!

Yes and they can run fast! I actually have a fear of hedgehogs but will save that for another story. :) It was lucky the camera had an anti-shake thingee on it. I was trembling and ready to take flight. hehe
So do hedgehogs get prickled from Prickles ??

Ooooh! A hedgehog! I've only ever seen them in storybooks. They seem like animals of fantasy to me, like unicorns. But this one---THIS one looks pretty real---and pretty mean---I think I'd be frightened too---but I'm surprised to know Niki was---will we get to hear the hedgehog story?
